All our Rulers are cut from top quality, sustainable, Redwood Pine. This ‘Original’ Height Ruler is stained with a ‘Mid Oak’ wood stain. Each one is sanded & stained and the lines and numbers are screen printed on by hand with an ink so strong it is there for life! Unlike a lot of wooden Ruler Height Charts, ours is chamfered so it really does look like an old school Ruler, and like your ruler at school, the measurements include feet and inches on one side and centimetres on the other. Ours also start from the ground making it a whole Ruler and not ‘a part of’!
Because all the work is done by hand no two rulers will ever be the same, and because wood has natural imperfections this can only add character to your height chart. Every Ruler is given the same treatment, but as the grain in each piece of wood is different, so the colour of each Ruler may vary It’ll be a unique, historical record & heirloom for your family, for many years to come.
Our Rulers are also available in stained Mid Oak and 6 Farrow & Ball paint colours. If you’d like your own paint colour to match your room please contact us for individual pricing.
A Ruler makes wonderful gifts for the whole family, standing at 6’6″ tall they’re not just for the kids. If you put your Ruler in a communal area of the house or office you’ll find all your friends will want to measure themselves! They are a great new baby gift, a housewarming present, Christmas, birthday, or just because you love it!
Your Ruler can also be personalise with a family name or quote for an extra £15 for 20 characters. Maybe personalise it with your company logo and keep it in the reception area to give your visitors something to talk about!
Your Ruler will include a Nickel Saw Tooth Alligator Hanger and 2 screws. Fix this to the back of your Ruler about 3” down from the top. Once ready, measure from the floor up to the bottom of your Hanger and put a screw in the wall, using a raw plug if necessary. Because of the length of the Ruler the gap behind disperses as it goes up the wall so you don’t notice it when put against the skirting board.

The Redwood Ruler is as raw as it comes... Rather than staining it with a pale dye, we've given it a coat of a natural raw oil, just so that sticky fingers wont mark the wood for the generations to come! Natural light will be only thing that changes the colour, but the lovely thing is, is that it happens as nature intended.
I love this warm muted grey with a touch of brown, named by Farrow & Ball after Charleston House, the home of the artistic and intellectual Bloomsbury Group. The well known Bloomsbury Set spent many a summer lounging in the gardens of another beautiful house not 500 yards from my home!
According to Farrow & Ball this strong neutral colour is one of their most successful wallpaper background colours, so they added it to their paint range. A slight green tinge, but I find it goes well with most wall colours
Lamproom Grey as described by Farrow and Ball is, 'Our most traditional blue grey was originally created when a white room had been stained by the trimming of lamp wicks'!
Named after the lotion used to soothe children’s stings and rashes. Don’t you remember being covered in it when the dreaded Chicken Pox struck! A delicate pink with a touch of grey to stop it being too sugary giving a much fresher finish.
More blue than black, Railings is a softer alternative to black which is particularly suited to the ironwork it takes its name from. The bluer undertones of this dark hue would transform a room into a dramatic interior space, but saying that it looks gorgeous next to our mid oak stained Original Ruler, so why wouldn’t it look fabulous in an old oak cottage!
This Blackboard wooden Ruler Height Chart has a Blackboard paint strip down the centre so that you can write all your families heights on in chalk pen. Not only is it a great alternative to our plain Ruler in the home but it's a great addition to a school classroom. Start the school year by marking all the children's heights on the Ruler and see how they grow. Then at the end of the year wipe your Ruler clean ready to start again with your next years class.
Farrow & Ball describe Pointing as fresh and uncomplicated, named after the colour of lime pointing used in brickwork. I’d say it’s definitely more grey than green and more white than cream! You decide...
For a more personal Ruler, why not add your own inscription.
